Welcome to Junior Field Hockey!
Whether you are brand new to the sport or a returning player, we look forward to welcoming you on the field.
Field hockey is a game of skill, speed and fun. The positions are very similar to soccer, the skills are similar to hockey with a couple of twists.

NOTE: Cowichan Field Hockey is following all Provincial Health Orders and advisors from viaSport and Field Hockey BC.

PRACTICE & GAMES
Location: John Ferreira Turf Field at the Cowichan Sportsplex
Practices start the week of April 1st

Games will start on April 6th

Grasshoppers-U14 Divisions
Practice 1 hour on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or a Thursday between 5-7pm
Games on Saturdays

U19 Division
Play on mixed teams with a practice & game (2 hr same night slot) during the week.

Registration will close after February 15th, 2024. There are two different opportunities to register:

1st – online registration through the website
2nd – in person – Sunday, January 28th – 10am-12pm – outside of the multi-purpose gym at the Cowichan Community Centre

Any registrations received after February 15th, 2024 will be placed on a waiting list. The registration fee will include a mouthguard, team picture, field rentals, Cowichan Sportsplex membership and for the U10-U19 divisions returnable team t-shirt. (Grasshoppers receive a ball and a t-shirt to keep)

FHBC MEMBERSHIP
MUST DO: THE FHBC AND FHC MEMBERSHIP FEE – Please register and pay online at fieldhockeybc.com registration is open August 15th for the 2023-24 season. Please note that you must be registered and paid in full to FHBC prior to playing for insurance coverage and other fees. One fee covers all indoor and outdoor field hockey from September 1st, 2023 to August 31st, 2024.

REFUND POLICY
Refund requests must be made by email to jrscfha@gmail.com.

• Within 2 weeks after the first practice commences >> Full refund less $10 admin fee.

• After 2 weeks from the first practice commences but within 4 weeks >> Full refund less $20 admin fee.

• After 4 weeks from the first practice commences >> No refund


PLEASE REMEMBER: No Soccer Boots, Food or Spectators allowed inside the fenced field areas. This includes all drinks except water. No gatorade, powerade or coffee. Running shoes or multi-studded rubber turf shoes are the best options for footwear. Our club must be diligent about keeping this field clean and setting an example to other user groups that wish to use it.
